Rotem was commissioned as an engagement ring. It was inspired by the flowering stems of the Israeli desert bush Retama Raetam and its etymological derivation. It is said that a Rotem designates a ribbon which is tied upon the body before embarking on a long journey. Rotem's lines are thus all fluidly connected.
Additional influence for the Rotem design came from the stylized "crown" settings of the 19th century and the modern and speeding lines of Art Deco era futurism. Underneath the center setting the point of the diamond opens to the Black Sheep & Prodigal Sons hexagon trade mark.
